WHAT'S A MINI BANG/BIG BANG?
A Mini Bang/Big Bang is a collaborative event where creators come together to produce and share fanfiction and accompanying artwork based on a shared theme or fandom. In the case of a Mini Bang, the word count minimum for the fanfiction is lower than what constitutes a BIG Bang. For this Mini Bang, we will also require the entire fic be released on the specified posting date, ensuring that all participants release their work simultaneously. The event allows collaboration in the fandom and a great opportunity to meet new friends!This Mini Bang will be SFW and revolve around everything Sakura Haruka! RULES & GUIDELINES
General Rules
1. You must be 18+ to join this event
2. By signing up for this event you commit to the event. Don’t sign up to drop out
3. Prepairs
a. Writers and artists are allowed to join as a team. However:
b. All parties must fill out participation forms
c. Writers must fill out a Writer Submission Form to ensure content fits the event’s rules
d. Writers may submit a second proposal to be matched randomly only if their prepaired artist is also taking on another fic
e. Betas can be added to groups at any time, even after pairs are announced. Simply reach out to a mod we can get them added to your group
f. We will not allow cowriting for this event
4. Response time
a. Please respond to your partners in a timely manner and keep them up to date. Let them know if you will be offline for extended periods of time (more than 36 hours)
b. If you are unresponsive for more than a week, or are consistently hard to reach, mods will reach out 3 times. If you don’t respond after that, you will be forcibly dropped
5. Drop Outs
a. Drop out with no issue, no need to contact us
i. Writers: Before filling out Writer Submission Form
ii. Artists: Before filling out Ranking form
iii. Betas: Before filling out Ranking form
b. If you need to drop out after you fill out the aforementioned form(s), please reach out to Amy or another mod. We can easily pull your form before pairs are announced
c. If you need to drop out after pairs are announced, please reach out to a mod ASAP
d. Dropping out of one group due to lack of time means dropping out of the event entirely (including all other pairs). Don’t overcommit yourself.
i. Declining to be a pinch hitter later does not count as dropping from a group
e. Last chance to drop out will be before Check-in 2 to ensure the pinch hitter has enough time to finish
f. If as a writer, you drop, your writing will not be used by the pinch hitter, but the idea/outline/proposal will be used if the artist wants to continue with the idea
6. Matching
a. Matching will be done based on ranking forms submitted by artists/betas
b. If we can’t match an artist/beta to their top 5, we will reach out to the artist/beta with alternate suggestions. We will not match with a writer you didn’t mention
c. We cannot guarantee “rarepair” ships will have someone to match you with.
d. We will announce ship stats from our participant pool to give writers/artists an idea of what ships have interest
7. Checkins
a. The checkins as listed in the schedule will involve filling out a form and providing proof of progress
b. Each Checkin will have a rough goal of the following:
i. Checkin 1: 25% done. I.e. Completed outline, scenes in progress, plan of how to stay on schedule, literally 25% of the planned word count, sketch(es) of planned piece art
ii. Checkin 2: 60% done. Fic is well on its way to be doing, lineart is mostly finalized, fic is well on it’s way. 60% of the planned word count
iii. Checkin 3: 80-90% done. Fic is nearly completed. If you have a beta, you will need to be almost done with the fic to ensure they have enough time to read through everything without being rushed. Art should have color and be working on final touches
iv. Mini Checkin: The fic and art is done. Logistics are covered for what day team is posting, if and how the art should be embedded in the fic, fic is in a draft in AO3
8. Extensions
a. Checkins are going to have a loose definition, we only want proof of progress. However, if you are wildly behind then you will need to ask for an extension
b. If you are unable to make a checkin
i. Speak with your partner to make sure they are on the same base and understand you are delayed
ii. Reach out to your mod (writers with Ara and artists with Hasu) to request an extension
c. If you are repeatedly delayed to the point your partner and the mods fear you might not finish, the mods will reach out to have a conversation
9. Waitlist
a. To ensure enough artists to writers we implemented a waitlist for writers. Information regarding how the waitlist works can be found in the Waitlist Info tab on the home page.

1. Communication and fics must be in English
a. If you writers wish to post in another language in addition to English, they may, but it will also be posted in English
b. Since everything will be in English, proficiency in the language will be needed to participate.
2. SFW content only
a. Consider this event PG-13 in terms on content, if you could see it in a PG-13 movie, it will be allowed
b. Anything that happens in canon will obviously be allowed (i.e. Wind Breaker levels of violence)
c. No NSFW, Dead Dove content, or anything that would warrant an Archive Warning. If you think your idea is on the cusp, reach out to a mod
3. Fics and Art must revolve around Sakura
a. Sakura POV is not necessary, but please keep the primary focus of the fic/art to be Sakura
4. Main ship must be Sakura with another Wind Breaker Character.
a. We cannot guarantee there will be an artist who wants to draw for your ship if it’s a rare pair. For reference, all these ships had more than 10 people who would work with this ship

5. No major use of OCs, self inserts, or character crossovers
a. AUs from different universes are allowed (i.e. Hogwarts AU)
b. OCs can be used to supplement cast, but should not be used majorly. (if you need clarification on this please reach out to the mod team before you submit a writer proposal)Writer Guidelines
1. Authors must post their work on AO3
a. They may post anywhere else in addition
2. The minimum word count will be 4k words
a. There is no maximum word count on writer submissions, but you must post the entire fic during the posting period. (Thus, you must have the entire fic done by posting).
3. Writers may only submit 1 Writer Submission
a. This is due to having more writers than artists
4. Writers must submit a new idea for their Writer Submission
a. This is a collaborative event with the artist. We ask to NOT submit any existing, publicly published content whether that is a threadfic or general idea/summary posted on social media.Artist Guidelines
1. Artists may post their art wherever they want as long as it is public
2. The minimum requirement for artwork is it must be colored with simple or no background.
a. If you are more comfortable and/or wish to color in black and white/monochrome, you may choose to do so.
b. Examples of a simple background can include but are not limited to solid colors, gradients, patterns, etc. We understand that every artist has their own style, so this can be up to your own judgement as an artist on what you consider as a simple background (and what is within your ability to meet the requirement).
c. While this is a minimum, you can include more details in your piece as long as there is a completely colored and finished artwork by the posting date. However, don’t push yourself too hard to do more than what is required! Please do what you are capable of doing within the two month timeframe, and ensure communication with your paired writer on what to do.
3. Digital and traditional artworks are allowed.
a. For traditional pieces, please upload a high quality version.
4. Depending on how many writer submissions we have, artists may be able to work on multiple ficsBeta Guidelines
1. Beta readers will be matched with writers during the ranking process
2. If a writer wants a beta further into the process, they can be added to the group per the request of a mod, or one off requests can be made in the Beta category on discordPinch Hitter Guidelines
1. Pinch Hitters will express their interest in their submission/ranking form
2. Pinch Hitters will not be assigned without a mod reaching out and confirming:
a. You still have the time to pinch hit
b. Want to pinch hit for the proposal
3. Depending on when the pinch hitter steps in, requirements for the final submission will be looser
4. If a writer drops they forfeit their idea
a. The pinch hitter will take on the idea the writer originally submitted, but not what has already been written. Pinch Hitter writers will have to start over, but will use any outlines, idea boards, or scene descriptions the previous pairing discussed, unless the artist wishes to change the idea.

1. Join the event discord!
You will fill out the participation form on our home page and join the discord
2. Writers submit Submissions
Writers will fill out a form that details the fic they are writing for the event. Information will include things like ship, expected word count, relevant tags, idea description, whether they want a beta reader
3. Artist and Beta Ranking Forms
After the writing submissions are all send in, the mods will sort through all the submissions and format them onto one google doc. From there, each submission will be given a number and artists/betas will rank their top five submissions in terms of which they want to work on
4. Pair Matching
After the ranking forms are turned in, the mods will go through all our information and match people to the best of our ability. Any difficulties in matching will be remedied as they come up
5. Creation Period Start!!
Pairs are announced and the pairs will now work together to write/draw
FAQ
Why is this event SFW if only adults are allowed?
This event is small, and moderating NSFW or Dead Dove content is difficult. We decided it was easier for matching and modding to stick with SFW content.Why don't you allow people under 18 in the event?
We didn’t allow minors as 90% of those who filled out our interest form were 18+. If we allowed minors we would put them at risk by possibly partnering them with someone two times their age. If we host another event in the future with more interest in the younger crowd, we will, but with the less than 10 minors who filled out our interest form, we couldn’t justify it.Can I cowrite a piece with another author?
Due to simplicity, we will not allow cowriting. The collaboration will exist between the artist/writer (and a beta if the writer requests one)Can I post in a language other than English?
As mentioned in the rules, the fic will need to be posted first in English, but writers may also post in another language! However, all communication and planning will be in English, so please keep that in mindCan I write a poly ship?
Yes! However, if no artists are interested in drawing for the ship (or any rarer pair ship poly or not) then there isn’t much we can do. However, at least for Suo/Nirei/Sakura, we have gotten enough traction there shouldn’t be any issuesCan I write an AU fic or is only Canon allowed?
Any type of fic is allowed! Whether that’s AU, canon divergence, future, whatever! We want to see everythingCan I join just as a beta reader?
Yes! But you will need to fill out the Beta Ranking form when it comes out, as the server will be purged of anyone who isn’t a part of a pairing (to account for those who dropped but never left the server)Can I join the discord server without participating in the event?

A pinch hitter is someone already in the event who takes over writing/drawing for a piece when the original artist/writer drops out. Details on pinch hitters and dropouts can be found in the rules.Why did you implement a Writer Waitlist?
Originally our interest form numbers led us to believe we wouldn't have huge differences in writer and artist numbers. However, after having the form open for a few days, we realized the number of writers was quickly out pacing the number of writers. We realized if we let it stay open we would face a problem with matching as we wouldn't have enough artists. So, before the the issue would grow too extreme, we decided to implement a writer waitlist.Why doesn’t this event do/have/allow X thing?
The majority of our decisions on what we allow vs don’t come down to simplicity. We only expect 40-50 participants, and the broader our rules, the harder it will be to match people. With only three mods (and two social media mods) we don’t have the manpower to cover a larger spanning event. This fandom is small, and this is the first event of its kind in it, so we want to keep it short, small, and simple.Any additional questions can be made through our tumblr ask or via messaging a mod in the discord.
